A small step for the contractor, a leap toward living normal again
The cabinets went in yesterday (mostly). There are a few doors and trim left to install, but they're on back order and will take a few weeks to arrive. And the old countertop was replace until the new one is installed, which also won't be for another three weeks.
So the whole kitchen reno project will probably take until the end of the month to complete, but there's still lots to do on our end: finish painting the ceiling, walls and trim. Put in the backsplash. There's some new lighting that needs to be installed (after we paint). We've updated the workback schedule and created a priority list of what tasks need to be completed in which order. It's a relatively complex project that requires lots of little decisions to be made on the fly.
But with the old countertop in place, we can put some of the appliances back into the kitchen and have partial use of the room until everything is in place.
Some new pics will follow.
